Pastor Jordan Peiser
Reverend Jordan Peiser is a recent graduate of Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He serves as pastor of Zion Lutheran Church in Maywood, New Jersey, and as a missionary for the Apple of His Eye Missions Society.
Jordan grew up in the north-western suburbs of Chicago and was raised in a Reform Jewish household. He went to Synagogue and Hebrew school at Beth Tikvah Congregation in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.
At seventeen, he was baptized and started attending Church regularly. He later went to college at Concordia University in St. Paul, Minnesota, where he got a degree in theology and psychology. While attending college in Minnesota, Jordan joined a campus ministry at University Lutheran Chapel, where he became active in the group. He assisted their campus missionary with the Church's English as a second language program and participated in other outreach events. After graduating from Concordia St. Paul, Jordan applied to attend Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
During Jordan's third year at the seminary, he went on vicarage (a Church
internship) at Trinity Lutheran Church in Norman, Oklahoma. While vicaring, he also worked with a campus ministry at the University of Oklahoma and an ESL program. During that year, Jordan led bible studies, helped people practice their English skills, hosted fellowship events (game nights, movie nights, and hiking trips) twice a month, and met regularly to talk with people who wanted to know more about Christianity. Through these experiences, Jordan gained valuable experience in teaching the faith and helping people grow in their faith.
During his free time, Jordan enjoys going for hikes, playing board games with friends, and reading. Jordan loves having visitors and talking with people, so if you ever want to talk or have questions for the pastor, feel free to email, call, or just drop by his office.
Yours in Christ,
Pastor Jordan Peiser
